3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Deadly Draw: Women's Tag Team Tournament (Aug 10)

1. Dasha & Rachael Ellering vs. Ivelisse & Diamante

This was a good, solid main event with plenty going for it, though the higher calibre of worker meant it was always going to outdo the opener.

Though Tony Schiavone stated it was Dasha's first match since October, Cagematch lists only one previous bout on her record, going all the way back to 2015. She looked green, but of course she did: this was either the second or third match of her career. Timing, coordination, and other execution issues where therefore to be expected, though she is clearly a great athlete and sold well for the heels during their prolonged heat sequence, building to Ellering's hot tag.

Diamante and Ivelisse work well together. Their best exchanges came with Ellering, who is a diverse, rangy performer whose fluid style makes her a good match-up for anyone in the division. Her and Dasha were strong babyfaces throughout, resulting in a stronger story than in anything else the tournament has offered thus far, concluding with the heels isolating Dasha and taking the win.
