3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 9)

1. No Clearance? No Problem!

Hangman Page Jon Moxley
AEW

Generally, Rampage could do with coming across as an extension of Dynamite rather than a recap show that also has some matches. That's why Hangman Page marching out to get in Jon Moxley's bloody face gets the top 'Up' slot this week: AEW could've kept this back for the flagship, but they didn't.

A short-but-sweet angle spotlighting big stars like this will always get a roar of approval from many. Hangman chewing Mox out and brawling with him despite admitting he wasn't medically cleared? Yep, that's the kind of hard-headed babyface goodness people applaud.

Then, Mox sent Page headfirst into the steel post on the outside, and the announcers pointed out that Hangman is still suffering concussion problems. The whole package was slickly presented, and it ate up less time than that useless squash match The Firm worked later.

More of this every Friday would be nice.
