3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Holiday Bash (Dec 23)

1. No Help For You!

Hangman Page Jon Moxley Claudio Castagnoli
AEW

Right, what was up with this mess?

Hangman Page rushed out to brawl with Jon Moxley for the third week running on Rampage. That's fine. Claudio Castagnoli glancing at his Blackpool Combat Club mate taking a pounding then walking away wasn't. That was so, so daft - not only in terms of their status as stablemates, but also for this match.

Say AEW wanted to claim that Claudio lets Mox fight his own battles. Y'know where that falls down? Castagnoli was teaming with Jon to win $300,000 in this Christmas-gift-themed opener. So, seeing Hangman blast Moxley with punches and choosing to stroll away like it's nothing didn't make a bit of sense.

This is something that happens too frequently on AEW TV. Workers are either in the wrong position, or act illogically in the heat of the moment. Booking sheets, be damned. Claudio should've at least attempted to fend Page off for his partner.
