3 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Oct 3)

Ups...

3. Glorious Domination

Bobby Roode Mike Kanellis

There wasn't a lot of legitimately good stuff on this week's SmackDown, but Bobby Roode's contributions weren't bad at all. 'The Glorious One' started with a quick squash of the previously MIA Mike Kanellis, who mustered just one cut-off spot before falling to a Spinebuster and Bobby's DDT finisher, which sealed the deal in under one minute.

It was a perfectly booked squash, and exactly what it needed to be to get Roode over. Dolph Ziggler arrived in the aftermath, and worked through his usual attention-seeking routine by hitting a drum and playing an air horn, though 'The Show-Off' fortunately kept it brief. He promised a "ring entrance we've never seen before" at Hell in a Cell (oh, goody...), but was cut off by Roode on the microphone, and that was that.

Nothing revolutionary here, but the squash was solid, the promo didn't go obnoxiously long, and watching Roode dismantle Ziggler at the pay-per-view should be fun. Dolph's promise of a unique ring entrance means there'll likely be shenanigans, but it should result in a victory for Bobby. He has main event potential, and Ziggler does not, which makes the outcome an easy choice.
