This week's SmackDown was functional and more about prepping King & Queen Of The Ring than anything else. That's understandable considering the PLE is next week, and WWE did still find time to make The Bloodline look strong whilst letting a main roster newbie shine against an old favourite.

Sadly, the Queen side of things sagged a little. Triple H might've booked himself into a corner with several matches in the women's brackets, and now the tournament looks a bit less exciting as a result. Can the same be said for the men's one? Not yet, because heavy hitters like Randy Orton and GUNTHER are still involved.

A contract signing skit between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul proved to be another of SmackDown's highlights. LP remains inconsistent on the mic, but the dude has enough heat from fans who can't stand him to offset any weaknesses. Besides, Cody was there to help things along anyway.

WWE clarified the terms for their title showdown in Saudi Arabia and busily set about the task of giving Cody some much-needed edge. Here's all the good and bad from the blue brand's penultimate effort pre-King & Queen!
