3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (17 May - Results & Review)

3. Swing And A Miss

Jade Cargill Nia Jax

Look, it's obvious what WWE were going for here, but it didn't click.

Jade Cargill was DQ'd for using a chair on Nia Jax following their short, family-infused brawl. Nia trolled Jade's daughter (who was cheering on mother dearest from ringside), then tried to use the chair on Cargill first before that backfired. So, eh...shouldn't Jax have been disqualified? She did swing for the fences with that chair, after all, and connected despite the block.

This was a cheap way to get Jade out of the Queen Of The Ring tournament, but yeah - not sure Jax would be considered the right opponent if Triple H ever fancied a return leg. Things could get awkward if Nia is tasked with carrying someone as green as Cargill to a lengthier showing.

WWE would've been better-served adding in some sort of stip that excluded current champions from these tourneys. That way, they wouldn't have been forced to come up with a quickfire exit for Jade. Creative only had to go this route because of their own booking.
