3 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 18)

2. Poor Drew

Speaking of "thrilling" things that aren't actually thrilling.

Drew McIntyre's rivalry with the 'Happy Folks' is a complete and utter waste of the Scotsman's WrestleMania season. He was working Brock f'n Lesnar two years ago, and walked into last year's show with a WWE Title match vs. Bobby Lashley to look forward to. 2022 is...rather different.

Now, Drew is facing Madcap Moss (again) at Elimination Chamber, and then probably going on to work Happy Corbin in Dallas. One has to feel for the former World Champ here, because he's really trying to motor through WWE's plans and retain his aura, but it's proving to be a real chore.

No-one could make magic out of material this dire, to be fair. The underlying notion that McIntyre wants to murder Madcap with his sword in Saudi Arabia is also rather out there. Yeah, they should leave that one alone and just get through their 'Falls Count Anywhere' scrap ASAP.
