3 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage: Slam Dunk (Feb 17)

1. 53-0, And Yet…

Jade Cargill Leila Grey
AEW

...Jade Cargill's TBS Title run is on life support in terms of overall fan interest.

So, she's beaten another sudden challenger who did nothing to earn a title shot in the first place. Wow. Come on, Tony Khan - give people a reason to care about the clearly-charismatic Jade, and move her career along before it hits the skids for good. These endless squashes don't cut it.

53 straight wins is an impressive number, but analysing the range of opponents (and the quality of matches she's been having) don't do much for Cargill's aura as an unstoppable force. Her character is sucking wind when it shouldn't be, and there's only one man to blame for that: TK.

Some context as to why Leila Grey is the only remaining member of 'The Baddies' would also be welcome, 'cause that hasn't been touched on at all. Right now, she's a poor woman's version of Rebel to Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter, and that won't change until there's some actual character development here.
