3. A Bad Night For Jinder Mahal

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal has looked extra motivated since capturing the belt, and while his performances haven’t always been good, he has at least made gradual improvements. This show was a real off-night for him, however, and neither his bout with Mojo Rawley nor his post-match promo delivered.

The contest had a logical basis, as Mojo squashed ‘The Maharaja’ in just over two minutes the week before he became number one contender, so it’s understandable that both men would want a piece of each other. It was a totally bland, however, generating very little heat en route to an entirely predictable outcome - Jinder’s victory.

Mahal said nothing he hasn’t already covered over the past 3-4 weeks in his promo. He reminded the fans that he’s the WWE Champion (as if we could forget…), promised to defeat Randy Orton, then spoke a few lines in Punjabi. ‘The Viper’ followed-up with an equally listless diatribe of his own a few minutes later, leaving their feud with no concrete progression this week, and completely failing to generate any buzz for their rematch.
