3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2019

1. Hulk Hogan

The reinstatement of racist Hulk Hogan into the WWE family is still a point of considerable contention, especially since his reprieve came not through contrition, but a colossal sackload of Saudi Arabian oil money.

Several of WWE's African American wrestlers went public about their reservations over The Hulkster's return to the company, noting that every attempt at an apology for his slurs had been equivocal. The New Day were amongst the detractors, making a joint statement expressing their disappointment at the comeback.

So on the weekend on which Kofi Kingston takes on Daniel Bryan for the WWE title, it was in poor taste to ask the trio to applaud Hogan as he emerged once more to induct cronie Brutus Beefcake. And brilliantly, they didn't, instead sitting in complete silence, with looks of disapproval etched across their faces.

You could argue that nobody but Hogan could have inducted great mate Brutus... but course they could have. Who on earth would have cared?

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
