3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2019
Ups...
3. Trimming (Some) Of The Fat
Although 2019's Hall of Fame was still a complete slog to sit through, as has become an unwelcome tradition in recent years, WWE's production team did apparently take some heed of the criticism over the ceremony's usually excessive length judging by a few minor tweaks designed to streamline the process.
The ghosts of 1997 live on, if the politicking which saw Bret Hart shoved into the Hall of Fame 'mid-card' whilst Shawn Michaels and his D-Generation X lackeys hogged the main-event spot is anything to go by. Were it not for the unwelcome interruption, Bret was at least allowed to make the most of his time, with the decision made to dispense of the inductor for two-time inductees.
Cutting even that little bit of gristle helped keep the focus on the people actually being honoured, and frankly, would have benefited everyone in 2019's class. It was baffling, then, that Dana Warrior was wheeled out once more just to prattle on before introducing John Cena... so he could introduce Sue Aitchison. What a fanny about.
