3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Saturday Night's Main Event (Results & Review - 23 May)

1. The Babyfaces Are Idiots

In recent weeks, WWE has teased tension between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, making their six-woman tag match alongside Alexa Bliss against Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab a story about whether this super team could coexist.

Saturday night, the trio managed to coexist through a basic, sometimes messy match. In fact, Flair and Ripley hit some tandem offense at the high point, which triggered a mid-match celebration, with Rhea and Charlotte hugging and then picking up Bliss to revel in their camaraderie… allowing Cargill to bulldoze all three women and quickly vanquish the WWE Women’s Champion with a Jaded.

On what planet do three women with a combined 23 world title reigns just break down and have a party in the middle of match because two of them hit stereo fallaway slams? The babyfaces looked like absolute morons, while Jade looked a killer.

The only way to salvage this would be for Rhea to admit on SmackDown that she let her guard down and needed to refocus herself, turning this absurd beat into something useful in the feud. Otherwise, this was just three veterans – including the current world champion – behaving like an LFG rookie celebrating a dropkick.

The fact that match was mostly forgettable didn’t help matters.
