3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 15)

Ups...

3. ‘King’ Corbin’s Mind Games

Some fans will never be keen on 'King' Corbin, and others think this feud with the Mysterio clan is a blight on the SmackDown landscape. That's fair enough, but all concerned told a pretty decent story on this week's show. Plus, Corbin played the obnoxious heel role to a tee.

Whilst it was rather strange that Corbin's new henchmen Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake were posted missing, their absence didn't actually hurt what WWE were going for here. The 'King' kept winding up Dominik (who was providing guest commentary), and then he used a son's love for his father against him to score a cheap win.

Afterwards, Rey vowed revenge.

Brace yourselves for a six-man tag match series again. Unless WWE has someone special in mind, then Rey must've been talking about Murphy when he said he knew someone who could help them. This is what it is - it's hardly offensive midcard fare.
