3 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 29)

Downs...

5. Where Is This Going?

King Corbin Dominik Mysterio

Nobody seems to have the upper hand in this feud.

One minute, 'King' Corbin is slapping the Mysterio clan around like it's a piece of p*ss. The next, Rey is leaping on top of the phoney royal and ensuring that this is all so 50/50. On top of that, WWE still hasn't explained where the hell Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake are, and that's damning when Corbin blatantly needs backup.

This rivalry is meandering along without any sense of direction. It's total filler, and not good filler either. Surely, the purpose of any storyline is that someone gets over because of it. That's not happening here - Corbin is still the same as before, Rey feels like he's dropped down post-Rollins and Dominik is struggling his way through this whole 'youthful exuberance' thing.

If anything, Dom has taken a step backwards since last summer. That's a shame, because he really was showing some potential and put his all into those first few months. This, unfortunately, is complete and utter meh.
