3 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw After WrestleMania 37

Downs

8. How Far They’ve Fallen

Just one month ago, Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin were on top of the world. They were part of a stable that owned the world title and the tag titles, decked out in fancy suits and owning Monday Night Raw.

Then the duo lost the Raw Tag Team Championship and were drummed out of the Hurt Business, and Bobby Lashley brutalized both men in separate singles matches. Worse, they weren’t even on the WrestleMania 37 card after being ever-present on Raw during the past year. On Monday, the tag team were “already in the ring” to face a returning Viking Raiders, then got battered and lost in short order.

What’s really amazing is the report that the sole reason for this demotion is that Vince McMahon just didn’t want to push Alexander & Benjamin any longer, which is just madness. You have an incredibly over stable that finally was firing on all cylinders after a long year of coming together, and Vince pulled the rug out from under them.

Just pure insanity if that’s true. Either way, it’s just sad to see Alexander & Benjamin fall so far, so fast.
