3 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw

1. Ambrose Unleashed

Some fans have been clamoring for it since the Shield broke up in June. Despite Seth Rollins winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and Roman Reigns tearing a path of destruction through WWE€™s upper card, some fans have pegged Dean Ambrose as the breakout star of the trio. His ongoing feud with Rollins has put the organic, meteoric rise on display. But Reigns€™ injury has been Ambrose€™s gain. Once Reigns went down with a hernia just before Night of Champions, WWE has filled that anti-Authority role by a returning Ambrose. And what we (and hopefully WWE brass) are quickly seeing is that Ambrose is the perfect fit for this role, even more so than Roman Reigns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY-wQBqV9dk&list=PLF0CB8E7B4C77DB61 Ambrose has the mannerisms, nervous ticks and promo style that truly makes him look unhinged. Much like Stone Cold looked like he would snap and Stunner anyone at any time, Dean Ambrose gives off a €œyou can€™t trust me€ vibe. Monday night, he also managed to show how entertaining he could be in a short, subtle way. He commented when Noble and Mercury confronted him that €œThey sent the Cruiserweight division out to get me,€ then questioned whether the security they returned with were real security or just last week€™s Rosebuds in different outfits. Most importantly, fans are buying into Ambrose as a top guy. Look at how fans react to him versus John Cena during promos and in the ring together. Sure, Ambrose is new and shiny in relation to Cena, but WWE might have lightening in a bottle here. They would be crazy to ignore it, especially at a time when they supposedly are trying to create new stars. We're less than four weeks out from Hell in a Cell without a cell match announced, but it looks like they're building toward Cena versus Ambrose, which would be an odd choice -- unless they're actually thinking of pulling the trigger on the Lunatic Fringe. Looks like we'll have to tune in -- and bear with more Bunnymania in the process -- to find out.
