While CM Punk never achieved his dream of main-eventing WrestleMania, Roman Reigns has closed out WWE’s biggest show two years in a row, with a third possibly coming Sunday.

Reigns won two matches as part of uber-trio the Shield at XXIX and XXX, but he was elevated to a top level by WrestleMania XXXI, as he challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Despite getting a push with rocket boosters, Reigns was heavily booed in the lead-up to Mania, leading to Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and leaving with the world title.

History didn’t entirely repeat itself last year, as Reigns entered XXXII as the challenger to Triple H, still was heavily booed, but emerged as world champion. Closing out two straight WrestleManias and possibly a third in a row now puts Roman in some very elite company, whether you approve or not.
