30 Most WTF Moments In WWE Royal Rumble History

9. Santino Is The Runner-Up (2011)

It appeared that Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio were the final two entrants in the Royal Rumble, and the match seemed to end in a Del Rio victory after he managed to throw Orton out without much fanfare at all. Del Rio was declared the victor, before Santino emerged from under the ring, having hidden himself there sometime earlier. As the referee tries to explain to Del Rio that he hasn't won (though stupidly doesn't just point at Santino, for fear of ruining the spot), Santino prepares the Cobra, while the crowd goes completely apes*** at the prospect of him winning the Rumble, and he connects with the move, earning easily the biggest pop of his career. The crowd is completely behind Santino, but as he swings Del Rio to the ropes, Del Rio reverses and manages to hurl Santino out, winning the Rumble legitimately this time. We knew Santino was never going to win, but what an amazing and unexpected moment this was.
