The WWF had a similar problem in 1997 as they did in 1996; they didn't have enough wrestlers to fill out a thirty-man Royal Rumble match. Their solution was to go knocking on the door of AAA owner Antonio Pena, who agreed to provide the company with talent in exchange for the exposure boost being part of a WWF pay-per-view would give his promotion. At least it would have done if the AAA wrestlers had been treated as anything more than jobbers. Lover was one of the casualties of the WWF€'s unfamiliarity with the Lucha Libre stars, though he is not the lowest ranked of them on this list.
