30 One-Time-Only WWE Royal Rumble Entrants You Totally Don't Remember

12. Muhammad Hassan (2005)

Wwe Royal Rumble One Timers Muhammad Hassan
WWE Network

Time In Match: 0:54

When ratings started to drop due to Triple H dominating Raw and WWE struggling to create new main event stars since the departures of Steve Austin and The Rock, they got desperate and decided to retread the route of shock TV. Enter Muhammad Hassan, whose character was, to put it bluntly, a terrorist. Hassan€'s anachronistic gimmick might have been given a modern twist of reality, but this was pro wrestling, escapist entertainment, and nobody wanted to see that.

Hassan was a heel beyond normal convention, so when he entered the 2005 Rumble everyone €- including the other heels - stopped what they were doing and ganged together to quickly eliminate him. He would be gone from the company due to a backlash from the networks, sponsors, and fans before the 2006 edition of the event came around.
