On a more serious note, the decision for Hogan not to wrestle Ric Flair at WrestleMania 8 in 1992 was one of the biggest WTF moments in Mania history. Flair had joined the WWF in late 1991, meaning that Vince McMahon had at his disposal the two biggest stars in the pro wrestling industry. Hogan versus Flair was a clear money match. But backstage politics got in the way. Hogan has taken most of the blame for it not happening, as he had the bigger track record for messing about with matches. The other explanation is that McMahon did a few Hogan Flair house shows in 1991 and didn't think they did well with interest levels. Instead, the match happened on the big stage of WCW in 1994, to absolutely huge interest levels.
