When Triple H got his famous long hair cut off in 2012, it was literally scissoring away at what could have been tons of money. A hair versus hair, or hair versus title match would have been a great selling point for a pay per view. If he was going to get the locks cut off anyway, then he may as well have done it as part of a pro wrestling angle. Especially when you consider Hunter's knowledge of wrestling history and his placement at the top of WWE business, how could he have resisted the lucrative prospect of putting his hair on the line in a main event match? In all seriousness, he probably didn't want to be seen doing a job. Ego over money.
