If you follow the Internet Wrestling Community's presence on social media or elsewhere, there's a good chance you've heard of the so-called "Tomspiracy" over the last few months, the belief that the WWE is deliberately downplaying interviewer Tom Phillips' height in order to make the shorter wrestlers he's interviewing look taller and more statuesque. This has resulted in Phillips having a clearly inconsistent height while interviewing different wrestlers, causing Internet sleuths to take note of his perceived height every time he interviews a new wrestler. More fuel was thrown on the fire on the Money in the Bank pre-show, as when interviewing Neville, Phillips followed him up a ramped area backstage, and as the two came to a standstill, Phillips appeared to launch into a not-so-subtle power stance squat, making himself appear a few inches shorter and Neville look like less of a midget. So, as it turns out, wrestlers haven't been standing on boxes this whole time: the 6 foot tall Phillips has been making himself look shorter in the most basic of ways. The WWE must surely know the furore it's kicked up online, and now they're just having fun with it.
