35 Top WrestleMania Performers In WWE History
8. Triple H (9-13)
You could very
easily put an asterisk next to this entry if you’re the skeptical type because
Triple H has booked himself in several high-profile WrestleMania matches in
recent years. But at the end of the day, Hunter is one of the top performers in
company history, not just Mania.
Triple H’s performances at WrestleMania did not get off to a great start, losing to the Ultimate Warrior at 12 in less than two minutes. But it would get better for the Game. He would be the first heel to walk out of the Mania main event with the world title in 2000. He main-evented X-8 against Chris Jericho and won the WWF Championship. Throughout the 2000s, Helmsley repeatedly found himself in world title bouts, competing in a world championship match in five straight Manias (X-8 through 22).
By 2011, Triple H had segued to being more of an attraction than the centerpiece of the promotion. He would lose to Undertaker at WrestleMania 27 and 28 before beating Brock Lesnar at 29 and losing at 30 to Daniel Bryan. He defeated Sting at 31 and lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match to Roman Reigns at WM 32.
Triple H would fall short against Seth Rollins at Mania 33 and then be on the losing side with wife Stephanie McMahon against Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey last year.
