35 Years Of WWE WrestleMania Mistakes

17. WrestleMania XIX - The Miller Lite Catfight Girls

WWE Network

Other than the occasional celebrity appearance, female involvement in WWE's biggest show up to this point had been limited at best. There had been very little in the way of legitimate, in-ring participation other than an annual throw-away match, with the promotion's women mainly used to arouse rather than enthral.

Despite the 'Attitude Era' being at an end, the 2003 show did little to further the cause of the company's women's division. After appearing in a series of salacious commercials for the beer Miller Lite, Kitana Baker and Tanya Ballinger reprised their roles at WrestleMania - this time, in the ring.

Or more accurately, on a king-sized bed.

Wherever it occurred, the decision to have the two actresses square off against Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler in a 'Fatal Four-Way Pillow Fight' was not in women's wrestling's best interest. Predictably, it was a shambles. As Jerry Lawler on commentary put it, "This is terrible! Nobody wants to see this!"

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
