39 Best Wrestlers From 39 Different Countries

28. Finland: Ludvig Borga

745748

Birthplace: Helsinki, Finland

The WWE loves to play ‘pesky foreigners’ up as uber-heels, and Ludvig Borga was one of many superstars to be given the gimmick of butting heads with the US of A.

Finnish professional wrestlers are few and far between, and Tony Halme is one of the biggest names to come out of the Nordic country. Upon entering the then-WWF in 1993 under the Borga moniker, Halme’s villain went on an undefeated streak as he tore through jobbers and lower card wrestlers, famously brings Tatanka's undefeated streak to an end along the way. A main event feud with the All-American Lex Luger followed, although Borga’s run was brought to an end in early ’94.

An ankle injury and apparent attitude problem saw Halme leave the company and eventually end up competing in the early days of the UFC. He’d also go on to have a political career before sadly taking his own life in 2010.
