4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Feb 18)

3. Big Swole Welcomes Christi Jaynes To AEW

Big Swole

Christi Jaynes put forth a solid effort in her AEW debut. She's a promising wrestler who mostly works the Californian and Texan indies and somebody AEW may be keen on, having given her this stage to perform. Her gimmick is very Brazilian, she's got some swagger, and more than held up her end of the bargain against one of the most charismatic prospects in the promotion.

This was the Swole show, though. One of her better singles matches, it was fun, packed with personality, and didn't overstay its welcome, as Swole put Jaynes away in just under five minutes. Her Dirty Dancing finisher put the newcomer away and took her to 2-1 in 2020.

Swole's overness was the most encouraging thing about this contest, as the crowd were enthusiastic towards her work throughout and filled the building with chants late on. She's connecting in a way that several others in the division are not.
