4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: Beach Break (Jan 28)

More Jon Moxley thunder; AEW's rookie improves; Rampage hosts an unnecessary step backwards.

Bryan Danielson Jon Moxley

Bryan Danielson 2K22 has the kind of grin you'd love to slap clean off.

It's a credit to the world class technician's abilities as a performer that one cheeky smirk rivals the emotion he's capable of evoking between the ropes. This borderline heelish approach he's showing is so subtle, and that's the genius of it - Danielson isn't coming out and saying. 'I can't wait to shut Jon Moxley down', but his eyes tell more than words could.

This week's Rampage was the kind AEW should be proud of. There were a few minor annoyances, but mostly everything flowed and only one match felt truly out of place (even that's arguable, but it made the 'Downs' section here). What's more, the company shone a spotlight on youth and gave some tag-teams the chance to show what they can do.

Tony Khan might want to have a right good think about what he's doing with one of those tags, to be fair. Their alliance with a certain veteran just isn't helping them. In fact, it's doing the opposite. Everyone involved would be much better off doing something different.

Here's all the good and the bad from All Elite's latest.
