4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 29)

2. "What A Finish”

Eddie Kingston Bryan Danielson
AEW

Jericho is responsible for that sub-heading.

The hyped-up colour commentator shouted that line as soon as Kingston vs. Danielson had concluded. Everyone's favourite Inner Circle leader was bang on the money here too. Bryan locked Eddie in a submission, and Kingston flashed a middle finger at his Eliminator tourney opponent before passing out.

This was immediately reminiscent of Steve Austin's genius bloody visual back at WrestleMania 13, and that's a huge compliment to both. Will it be remembered the same way? Hardly, but poaching from the greats is never a bad idea, especially when it makes sense in the context of your own match.

Someone like Kingston should be defiant. That's what he's all about! Logic was strong here, 'cause Bryan had previously laid into Eddie when he was defenceless. Basically, why wouldn't Kingston let his foe know that he could break his body but not his spirit?
