4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: Slam Dunk (Feb 18)

Downs...

2. A Missed Opportunity?

Powerhouse Hobbs
AEW

This writer has nothing against Powerhouse Hobbs getting a well-deserved opportunity in the 'Face Of The Revolution' ladder bout next month. However, can you imagine what Dante Martin would've been capable of in that setting?! That's why this qualifies as a 'Down' despite the good match they had.

Even fans in attendance seemed a bit surprised by the finish.

AEW clearly wants to front load the ladder match with muscle - Keith Lee, Wardlow and now Hobbs are all in. The danger here is that they'll have too many big men involved, and that could hurt the spectacular feel and big bumps most expect from these things.

Martin would've helped that. Seeing him bounce around for Lee (man, they need to wrestle someday) would've been awesome, and the same could be said for Wardlow. Dunno', it's a small gripe but Dante might've been a better choice than his Team Taz rival.

Some fans will feel differently.
