4 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (2 Oct - Results & Review)
1. Just Stop Putting These Guys Together!
What's the end game here? Is there one, or is Gunther going to continue rag-dolling Danhausen around the place like a school bully? He comes across a little too Ryback in these skits! Danhausen approaching Gunther with some silliness shortly after the ‘Ring General’ had taken both Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn out was certainly a choice, and not an inspired one.
Last week, yours truly complained about Danhausen even interacting with Gunther at all, and the same applies here. There’s nowhere WWE can go with this that’ll satisfy, so just quit it. A match between the pair sounds far-fetched, and it'd only suck the Austrian into all of the supernatural hijinks that Mr. Hausen is known for. If creative think they can handle that well and maintain Gunther's aura coming out of it, then they're probably smoking some funny stuff before crunch meetings.
That's twice now Gunther has manhandled Danhausen. This time, he went a little bit further by tossing the cheeky imp into some production crates before storming off. Let that be the last of it. If Dan manages to put a curse on Gunther, then the heel will need some sort of retribution, and that'd only come via a match nobody really needs to see.
Ideally, GM Nick Aldis will tell his would-be assistant (that story seems to have been dropped too, by the way) to stay away from big, nasty villains who could put him in the hospitalhausen. Nothing positive can come of proceeding with this mini-side quest for a World Title level worker.
Nothing.
