4 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 27)

3. Heel Backup

Penelope Ford The Bunny

That's not to say they can't flesh out some stories, form some new partnerships and keep a few of the lesser matches ticking along before pay-per-views. Here, that's exactly what AEW did with the upcoming women's 'Casino Battle Royale' at All Out.

Penelope Ford came out to aid The Bunny against Tay Conti, and then the heels posed like a pair of vicious heels should after the match. Seeing those gals team up to try and eliminate the competition in Casino is a nice dynamic. Also, Conti has some motivation to be the babyface hero now.

Simple booking is effective booking.

No, this wasn't a home run of a segment from start to finish, but it does give an otherwise-listless match some purpose. The likes of Penelope, Bunny and Tay all needed something more to do than stand around for others or wrestle on Dark anyway.
