4 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Jan 24)

Ups...

4. The Long Road Back

It wasn't as gripping as the first part, but NXT's second 'Who Are TM61?' vignette came off well last night.

This one focused primarily on their NXT run to date. We got highlights of everything that brought them TakeOver: Toronto, where they contested the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Classic's finals with the Authors Of Pain, including the injury that put Shane Thorne on the shelf. Success was effectively snatched away ust as they were on the verge of peaking, and this helped paint the duo as sympathetic.

"Pain is just weakness leaving the body," was Thorne's cliché of choice. From there, the affable Aussies promised to prove that they are everything they say they are, and that when they return, they're coming for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

They'll be back in action next week, and while another couple of video packages would've been nice, the past two weeks have succeeded in making their comeback a lot more exciting. Let's hope the live crowds respond in kind, because TM61's division could use another popular babyface unit.
