2. The King Vs. The Singhs

Predictably, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jinder Mahal must continue. ‘The King Of Strong Style’ fell at SummerSlam, but it was thanks to interference from the Singh Brothers. Daniel Bryan’s response was to book Nakamura against both of Jinder’s henchmen last night, and it accomplished everything it needed to.

This was the Singhs’ first televised match since taking Jinder’s side, and they showed up to wrestle in their usual dress shirts and smart trousers. They were dominated: Nakamura completely worked them over, just as he should have, until Mahal pulled the distraction. Still, this wasn’t enough for the duo to take control, and they were defeated in less than three minutes.

The Singh Bros have been awesome sidekicks, and this was the right way to use them. There’s absolutely no way they should be in control of a wrestler like Nakamura for any more than a couple of seconds, and they weren't. They were squashed, and Shinsuke can now look forward to another big title fight, for which the company will presumably find a wacky stipulation that’ll (fail to) keep the Singhs from ringside.
