4 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Feb 3)
1. What The Sh*t Was This?!
Look, WWE is a business, so they're gonna seek ways to make as much money as possible. That's fine, and nobody should have a problem with cross-promotions that rake in the cash. However, the company should endeavour to find ways to incorporate money-makers without hurting their own product.
Case in point: Rey and Dominik Mysterio having a NASCAR race.
Dom seemingly ambushed his father behind the curtain at the Rumble, then tore his famous mask to shreds during his own entrance (or tried to, at least - that mask turned heel on him). WWE's follow up for that? Have Dominik and Judgment Day crash some commercial appearance Rey and New Day were making.
This was crap, and it takes away from the story being told between dad and his bratty son. These guys will collide on the card at WrestleMania, but someone thought this was the way to build that? The skit was a NASCAR ad that needed some wrestlers, not wrestlers that needed a NASCAR ad.
