4 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (27 Oct - Results & Review)

UPS…

4. Irishmen Turn In Workmanlike Effort

WWE Raw JD McDonagh Sheamus
WWE

Sheamus and JD McDonagh are probably two of the most reliable wrestlers on the Raw roster. They’re always capable of delivering hard-hitting, solid matches, and they rarely turn in lackluster performances.

Pairing them up on Monday night yielded predictable results.

Sheamus overpowered JD and battered him throughout, but McDonagh took control with a little help from Finn Balor. He used his speed and aerial offense to keep Sheamus down, landing an Asai moonsault and a 450 splash before the Celtic Warrior fired up to take over again. In the end, it was Balor using Sheamus’ shillelagh that made the difference, with JD’s Spanish Fly earning the win.

Not every match can be a high-stakes epic. You need these workmanlike bouts between quality wrestlers. It’s a bonus when the fans really get into it, which they did here, and Sheamus and McDonagh deserve credit for pulling that off.
