4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 4)

Was that one of the most unique AEW Rampage matches fans have ever seen?!

Rampage has been obsessed with Battle Royales over the past few weeks. Your tolerance for that overused match type will vary in AEW circles, but you've got to give Tony Khan credit for trying to find things that make the Friday night show watchable. That can't be easy considering the addition of Collision a few months back.

Tony's next attempt? Let Jon Moxley bleed all over the place in a 20+ minute 'Parking Lot Brawl'. Yes, enjoyment of that will differ fan to fan too, but at least this week's main event served up something people tuning into Rampage don't usually see. Bonus points for that, Mr. Khan!

Elsewhere, Keith Lee teamed with The Hardys in trios action, there was a rematch from the women's Owen Hart Cup tourney, and All Elite's newest thrown-together tag-team got a squash match win they definitely didn't need. Producers wrapped all of that next to some build for coming TV like Collision and Dynamite.

There was a lot to talk about on this week's show, put it that way. Some familiar AEW grumbles remain prevalent (and they're often worse when boiled down onto a 'C' show that's largely phoned-in), but the hour did fly past.

Here's all the good and bad from it!
