4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 3)

3. “The Ultimate Insult”

Penta The Young Bucks
AEW

The Young Bucks unmasking Penta was treated like some super-original show of disrespect that AEW fans had never seen before. This was something the company played around with fairly recently, so it didn't hit as a meaningful end to an otherwise-fun tag bout between Lucha Bros and The Jacksons.

Jericho's sell job was a bit OTT too.

No, over-the-top commentary isn't a problem when it fits, but the JAS leader made it sound like ripping off Penta's mask would have dire consequences for The Bucks. Of course, it won't; this was an exhibition bout, not part of some blood feud between both teams - as the intro says, it was a 'Best Of' compilation.

The mask removal should've been edited out of the tag's closing stretch, 'cause it just wasn't necessary. If All Elite want to pretend that the mask gimmick is sacred, then they really need to build it up rather than deploy it as a throwaway spot.
