4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 3)
1. Followed By Awful Timing
Then, this cluster.
Look, being a commentator isn't easy, so this guy has heaps of sympathy for Excalibur, Taz and Chris Jericho here. AEW's producers did them a disservice by tossing up that Jon Moxley graphic on-screen just as the main event TNT Title bout was racing towards its conclusion on Rampage.
That's very poor formatting yet again from a company that should really know better. The whole exit from Punk's promo, with Jericho claiming several times that he'd been forced to "relinquish" the title (which wasn't true) and then this hastily-explained Battle Royal dealio was woeful.
Ethan Page was interfering in a title match and pulling Martin's leg when Excalibur and Jericho bungled their Dynamite hype and tried desperately to clarify that Punk hadn't relinquished anything. Jesus, Rampage became WCW Thunder for a segment or two.
