4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 21)

1. Wrestling’s Worst Story Gets Worse

Matt Hardy Stokely Hathaway Ethan Page The Firm

Holy f*ck, this is bad.

The Firm gaining control of Private Party and Matt Hardy's contracts is a rubbish tale to begin with, but now we have Matt rapping for...some reason. Honestly, this entire story is the worst in a major company right now. It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see from the minor leagues, actually.

Everyone working these segments should know better, and it's not even clear what they're trying to achieve with any of it; are viewers supposed to feel sorry for Hardy because he's being gently ridiculed by Ethan Page and Stokely Hathaway? Will this lead to some breakout push for 'All Ego'? Who knows?!

It's becoming pretty obvious that AEW don't even have a clue. They're just winging it week-by-week and hoping to stumble upon something that stops the bleeding. Poor doesn't even begin to cover it. This is one seriously dreadful piece of business.
