4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Road Rager (June 17)

1. The Main Event’s Refereeing

Consider this a complement to the whinge about those title rankings.

Bryce Remsburg started count outs then randomly stopped them during the main event between Bobby Fish and Darby Allin. At one point, Bryce even exited the ring to admonish Fish for failing to follow rules he himself was barely bothering to enforce. Wow.

This happened several times in what was clearly presented as a regular match (one with rules, supposedly), and it definitely stood out. Sometimes, Remsburg didn't even count despite Allin and Fish being outside the ring or working spots on the apron. It was all over the place.

Fans shouldn't care if this occurs during a picture-in-picture ad break or not - it shouldn't be happening at all, especially during a TV main event. Bryce is usually a fine ref, so it's weird that he looked like he'd been plucked out of the crowd and asked to officiate here.
