4 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Road Rager (June 17)

2. Nobody Stands Out

Here's another bitch about the women's scene in AEW.

Why does every babyface challenger around this place need somebody else to run in and save them when things get feisty? Athena took care of Kiera Hogan, but then got roughed up by the dominant Jade Cargill before Kris Statlander rushed out to save her skin.

This was yet another example (in a long line of examples!) of AEW over-booking segments that really don't need it. It's also really worrying that Athena is starting to blend in rather than stand out next to the other women on the roster. This...keeps happening.

Why should anybody believe that Athena is a threat to Cargill when she can't even fight her own battles? Is it worth sacrificing that individual credibility so All Elite can book more thrown-together multi-person tags on future episodes? No, it's not.
