4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 23)

1. Illogical Behaviour

Roman Reigns side-stepped Cesaro's Universal Title challenge and fired out one of his own to Daniel Bryan. Erm...hello? Roman's character has told the world that he only defends the belt when he's contractually obligated to. Also, why would he feel like he has anything to prove to Bryan anyway?

The reigning champ pinned both DB and Edge at WrestleMania. If anything, he should be telling Cesaro and Bryan that they're both fighting to be at the back of the line. This made zero sense, and the stipulation tagged onto Reigns vs. Dan was rushed beyond belief - Bryan "must leave" SmackDown if he loses next week.

He will, which is a bit of a bummer for Friday nights.

A Daniel-less SmackDown is a lesser product. Someone needs to explain why making Roman look like a panic merchant and potentially taking away one of the brand's biggest babyfaces is best for business right now. This better be leading to something good.
