4 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (May 19)

2. Luther vs. Jon Cruz

'The Japanese Deathmatch Legend' Dr. 'The Original Death Dealer' Luther was back on Dark, looking to avenge last week's loss to Jimmy, and did so in the night's squashiest bout.

Jon Cruz was put away with minimal fuss here, barely throwing a lick of offense. That's fine. Unfortunately, though, Luther looked very old and very slow throughout. His strikes still look good but the moments between them do not, suggesting that Havoc might be a better carrier than he is given credit for.

Goofy character work saw Luther scream at his fist at one point and he eventually put Cruz away via Camel Clutch with fish-hooked eyes. That should have been a disqualification, compounding the down.
