This article's been kind to Jordan Devlin since he relaunched himself on NXT UK as an angry young man, but the gimmick's starting to wear thin as the matches fail to really improve beyond his original squash victory. His finisher's great but his fire's false. Or worse, it's true and this particular audience just weren't feeling particularly scorched by it.
If anything, his victory over the brand's whipping boy Sid Scala was a bigger win for the loser. Scala's defeats are gradually helping him craft a 1-2-3 Kid-style CV that - if his trip to Johnny Saint's office was any kind of a clue - may lead to him eventually finding his Razor Ramon.
In many respects, that makes this squash the most successful on the show so far - though possibly not for the reasons WWE intended. Devlin may be lining up a feud against Leeds luchador Ligero, but just how will the not-so-psycho Sid get his first big win?
