4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 3)

2. The Most Boring Choice Possible

Vince McMahon might reason that nobody cares to remember Ronda Rousey's prior 'friends to enemies' story with Natalya from several years back, and he's probably right. However, that doesn't excuse the boss for picking literally the most boring challenger he could've picked for Rousey on SmackDown.

Natalya has been a tag-team afterthought for the longest time. Either Raquel Rodriguez (who has clicked with Rousey in-ring already) or Shayna Baszler (who has a natural MMA vs. MMA story to tell with Ronda) should've gone over in that aforementioned 'Six-Pack Challenge'.

Why do that when you can send everyone to sleep though?

There's no real hook to Nattie challenging Ronda. Older fans who do pay attention remember their match being average before, and it's not like newer folks will take Natalya seriously as a threat to the new champion either.
