4 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Nov 26)
3. Will They Waste Shayna Baszler Forever?
Shayna Baszler's SmackDown career is almost two months old.
Since moving over from Raw, she's teamed with Sonya Deville to beat Naomi in a handicap match, beaten Naomi twice in singles, worked some tags and been background noise to Deville's storyline. It's...not good to see Baszler cutting such a peripheral figure when she's one of the best workers in the division.
Honestly, Shayna's entire main roster run had been a miserable flop thus far. She's gone from teaming with Nia Jax and screwing around with dolls on Raw to this horsesh*t on Smackers. Seeing her get totally lost in the shuffle when she should be a top contender for the SmackDown Women's Title is pretty crap.
So, the question must be asked of WWE. Will Shayna ever get close to her NXT peak again? Or, are creative content to let her merely exist in going-nowhere tags? Baszler must become a focal point soon. She's too talented for this role.
