4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Crown Jewel 2024 (Results & Review)
DOWNS…
6. Four-Way Spotfest Underwhelms
The ceiling for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship four-way match was never that high, mainly because having that many moving parts actually limited the ability for the bout to be little more than a series of spots with no serious cohesion. And the risk of something going awry was pretty high.
The match wasn’t bad, but it came across as a soulless recitation of spots, down to everyone doing a bunch of dives to the floor in predictable fashion at one point. The Meta Four hung in there in their first main roster PLE match, but you could see them counting along to the beat and looking at their feet rather than just getting in their and dancing.
Jade Cargill, who has been a wildcard in these multi-team matches during the past several months, had a good showing here, but she also was the least-involved wrestler in the bunch, so there were fewer opportunities for her to have an oopsie. As usual Chelsea Green stole the show with her comedy stylings, while Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky stood out from the wrestling standpoint.
Overall though, this once again was a middling match throwing eight women out there to muddle through something that was immediately forgotten after the bell rang.
