4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Hall Of Fame 2018

2. Owen Hart Tributes

Fond memories of Owen Hart are copious when wrestlers of his era reflect on their careers, his personality having left an indelible mark on just about everybody he worked with. Owen blessed many lives, but few were as close to the King of Harts as Jeff Jarrett, so it was particularly poignant to hear Double J speak soulfully about his best buddy. Jarrett's touching tribute didn't just revolve around Owen's reputation as a prankster - though it had a few of those stories too.

Jarrett's homage was moving, but Mark Henry's plea to Owen's widow Martha to allow her husband into the Hall of Fame was utterly heart-wrenching. It's Martha's right to deny WWE the chance to profit from Owen's legacy - and one can sympathise with the resentment she undoubtedly still holds towards the company which robbed her of her husband - but perhaps it's time the entreaties of the wrestling fraternity, operating from no platform of cynicism, are heard. Henry's tearful petition made plain just how much it means to his ring brothers.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
