4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (3 July - Review)

1. Brock Returns, Cody Stands Tall

With SummerSlam just five weeks away, you figured the clock was ticking on Brock Lesnar returning to finally answer Cody Rhodes’ open challenge for a rubber match in their series.

We didn’t have to wait long, as Lesnar’s music hit just seconds after Cody’s had faded out. In a touch of realism that ignored WWE’s invisible wall problem, Rhodes charged out of the ring, raced up the aisle and brawled with Brock all the way back to the ring, where he countered an F-5 with a Cody Cutter, sending the Beast reeling.

Nothing else needed to be said with that opening segment. It was perfect, enough to jumpstart the feud again and prove that things are still hot between the two (it still would have been better if this rivalry was over the WWE Championship, but that’s beside the point). Cody racing to attack Lesnar was a realistic response from someone who has been waiting for more than a month to get his hands on his rival too.

Here's hoping they can keep this up through SummerSlam and keep things burning between the two.
